Astronomy Nova Scotia proudly operates in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. With respect and appreciation, we honour generations of traditions and teachings about the world we live in today.

Astronomy Nova Scotia is a collective of amateur and professional astronomy organizations in Nova Scotia that engage in astronomy and promote astronomy to the public. The principal participants are the Halifax Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and the Department of Astronomy & Physics at Saint Mary's University (SMU) in Halifax

RASC operates the Saint Croix Observatory (members only)

SMU operates the Burke-Gaffney Observatory (BGO) including the Ralf Medjuck robotic telescope.

The Halifax Planetarium is operated by Dalhousie University.

The Discovery Centre presents sky shows for children in its Dome Theatre

Please note that Astronomy Nova Scotia is simply an information  hub to help the public find the Astronomy resources they need. ASN has no members, officers, directors, or staff. It runs on volunteer effort.
